QANTAS Freight Announces New Freighter Service to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport
New service includes new cargo destination to Chongqing, China

QANTAS Freight has announced it will launch new dedicated around-the-world freighter service from Australia to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport via Beijing and Chongqing, starting on June 8.  QANTAS Freight will operate the route with Boeing 747-400 freighter aircraft. The launch of QANTAS Freight service will represent the 19th cargo carrier to serve DFW.

“This new service from QANTAS Freight shows further commitment to the Dallas Fort Worth market and our Airport," said John Ackerman, Executive Vice President of Global Strategy and Development for DFW Airport. “The new freighter service from QANTAS augments their already successful daily A380 passenger flight to Sydney and significantly increases cargo capacity.”

The flight extends DFW’s ongoing strategic expansion of its international cargo business.  The routing of the flight will start in Sydney, Australia, and include Chongqing, Shanghai, Chicago, DFW, Los Angeles and back to Sydney with a technical (fueling) stop in Honolulu.

The midweek service is ideal for bringing electronics, eCommerce and general cargo into the USA from China, and is also an established gateway to pick up a range of energy, mining and aerospace cargo in the USA bound for Australia.

The new route connects DFW to another market in mainland China due to the Chongqing stop. Recognized as the premier inland cargo hub in the United States, DFW Airport handles 60-percent of all air cargo originating in Texas.

The weekly freighter service will operate on the following schedule:
